It’s that time of year where winter weather is a possibility. A reminder that Trinity follows Red Bud School Dist. 132 for school closings. BUT if Red Bud has a snow delay, WE WILL BE CLOSED. We DO NOT follow the snow delay schedule. Another way to keep up to date on school closings is to sign up for school wide Remind and to check your emails
Early Registration Discount
Trinity Lutheran School early registration discount for K-8th grades for the 2018-2019 school year is open. The discounted rate is $170 per child for those who register and pay the fee before the March 30, 2018 deadline. If you are interested in these savings, please contact the office. Preschool Registration is also open. Preschool registration is $30. Act fast to lock in your child’s spot for next year. Contact the school office for registration papers.
Booster Club Fish Fry
The Athletic Booster Club will again be hosting its fish fry on Friday, March 9, from 4:30 p.m. To 8:00 p.m Fish cleaning will be held at Stamm’s shop on Sunday, March 4th. At 3:00 p.m. The work night at school is scheduled for Thursday, March 8th. One dessert per family will need to be brought to school on Friday, March 9. Please consider giving some time to help. There will be lots to do and it’s a great time for fellowship. Two volunteers are needed for the cash register. Adults are needed to work in the serving line, help with desserts and drinks and help in the picnic shed. We welcome the children to help with trays, cleaning tables, and collecting trash.
Show Me Dough
This Friday, February 23rd the students are coming home with the “Show Me Dough” Fundraiser. (This date is different than the calendar) The pastries & desserts make a great addition to Easter brunch and the pizza makes a great after school snack or a quick weeknight dinner. This money from this fundraiser goes toward curriculum updates and purchases. Please make checks payable to Trinity Lutheran School. Please have ALL order forms and money turned into the office by March 21st. Delivery is scheduled for April 5th.
Empower Illinois Scholarship
Please check your child’s backpack, a letter and information came home with your child today, Friday, February 23rd about the new scholarship program being offered by the state of Illinois. 529 College Savings Plans
The 529 plans are offered by states. They allow families, to put away money for college and avoid paying taxes on any money withdrawn to pay for college. The state is reducing fees and giving more investment choices to people saving money for college in the state's 529 college savings plans. The change also allows money to go toward saving to parochial universities. The changes will be implemented in July.
On April 5th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. All Trinity students Preschool-8th grade will be participating in an Author’s Fair. Each classroom teacher will be sending instructions about theirt students’ responsibilities for the “Author’s Fair.”
